Month Three

Lydia started off the month at 12 lbs 2 oz and 23.75" long. She spent the rest of the month adjusting to our new routine and working her way through all her cool new 0-3 mo. clothes. She fully developed her social smile and started to explore more with her hands. She also managed to sleep right through two earthquakes (4.2 and 4.7) as well as a fire alarm. By the end of the month she was sleeping in her crib in her own room and had started using a pacifier. She finished off the month with finding her hands. She spent a couple days cross-eyed examining them.

Month Two

The second month of Lydia's life was quite an eventful one. Mommy started working from home. Then Poppy came out to visit. Lydia then had her first Easter and first trip to church. She was a sweetheart through the whole service and gave Reverend Chip big puppy dog eyes as he gave her her first blessing. Six weeks came and with it a lot of changes. Grandma Carroll came back out and mommy went back to work full time back on campus. Lydia developed her neck muscles and Daddy started using her as an action figure. It was during this time the Lydia had her first experiences skateboarding and hanggliding baby style (Daddy assisted and mostly make-believe). Towards the end of the month Grandma Carroll had to go home and Lydia needed to start daycare. We found a great one just in time and Lydia settled right in, hardly missing a beat.

Month One

Lydia had a rough first month. She was down to 7 lbs 6 oz by the time she left the hospital and hit a low of 6 lbs 9 oz by her first doctors visit. She had not been nursing well and had a moderate case of juandice. She was put on a bili-blanket and and became a gloworm for the weekend. We also had to supplement her diet with some formula for a week or two.

By the end of the month Lydia was all better and nursing like a pro. Grandma Carroll left during week two, after her jaundice was mostly gone. Grandma and Grandpa Holloway got to come visit during week 3. Lydia spent 3 days in Grandma Holloway's arms. :) Mommy spent the entire month agonizing over the fact that she would eventually have to go back to work.

All in all, it was a good first month.
