Well, it's been a little while, and of course a lot in Lydia's life has progressed. She's now well over 19 lbs, but still hovering around 27" tall. Still no teeth, but we've had all kinds of teething fun. Lydia's now managed her way through two bouts of pink eye and two ear infections. She sleeps through the night, and will even let me tuck her in while she's awake without any complaints.

She's not crawling, but she sure wants to be mobile. She likes to be held up standing and will even pull herself up and walk if you hold her hands. We keep telling her she needs to crawl first. Her favored method of transportation, when not being assisted to walk, is to scoot on her butt. This, of course, is very slow and can sometimes lead to toppling over, so it's been becoming more and more frustrating to her. Lately she's been reaching for things and almost getting onto all fours, so I think it's just a matter of time.

She's been trying to talk more and more each day. Daddy got super excited when the day came for her to practice her "da"s, "dad"s, and "daddy"s. I suppose Mommy was pretty excited by the "manamana"s too. She even likes to throw the occasional "'ydia" in there. I think we may have broken into the realm of first word though. Lately in the morning when I peek into her crib she gives me a nice "ma ma" and a smile. She also sometimes says "ma ma" when she's upset and wants to be picked up. She will frequently express discontent with a string of "i da ba ba"s. I'm still trying to figure out if that means anything in particular.

Lydia was supposed to be a pumpkin for Halloween, but apparently she's not as big as Mommy and Daddy think she is. Pumpkin will have to wait until next year...too bad cause she looks pretty big in it even though it's way too big! We're shopping for a new costume this weekend.
Overall Lydia is a pretty happy little girl and she's a little ray of sunshine in her mommy and daddy's lives. She's even added to her cuteness (if that's even possible) with her frequent clapping and smiling. All love and giggles here in the Moore household!! :D
